Easy Bible・Mark 8
Mark 8:1
During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said,
In this chapter, Jesus performs another miraculous feeding, this time feeding a crowd of four thousand people with just seven loaves of bread and a few small fish. The chapter begins with Jesus having compassion on the crowd, who had been with him for three days and had nothing to eat. He tells his disciples that he does not want to send them away hungry, and they bring him seven loaves of bread and a few small fish. Jesus blesses the food, breaks it, and gives it to his disciples to distribute to the crowd. After everyone has eaten and is satisfied, the disciples collect seven basketfuls of leftover food. This miracle shows Jesus' power and provision, as he is able to multiply the small amount of food to feed a large crowd. It also demonstrates his compassion for the physical needs of people.
