Easy Bible・John 16
John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
In this chapter, Jesus continues to prepare his disciples for his departure. He tells them that they will face persecution and be expelled from synagogues because of their belief in him. However, he assures them that the Holy Spirit will come to guide and comfort them. Jesus also predicts his own death and resurrection, and promises that their grief will turn into joy. He encourages them to ask the Father in his name and assures them that their prayers will be answered. Jesus ends by saying that although they will face trouble in the world, they can take heart because he has overcome the world.
