Easy Bible・John 18
John 18:1
When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was an olive grove, and he and his disciples went into it.
In this chapter, Jesus is betrayed by Judas and arrested by a group of soldiers and officials sent by the chief priests and Pharisees. Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, willingly surrenders himself to the authorities, demonstrating his obedience to God's plan for salvation. During his arrest, Peter tries to defend Jesus by cutting off the ear of one of the high priest's servant, but Jesus tells him to put his sword away, reminding him that his arrest is part of God's will.
