About this Chapter

In Acts 18, we see Paul arriving in the city of Corinth, where he meets Aquila and his wife Priscilla. They were tentmakers by trade, just like Paul, and he stayed and worked with them. Paul preached in the synagogue every Sabbath, trying to convince both Jews and Greeks about Jesus as the Messiah. However, when the Jews opposed him and blasphemed, Paul shook out his clothes and said, 'Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.' After leaving the synagogue, Paul went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, who was a worshiper of God. Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord and were baptized. Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching the Word of God to the people. During his time there, he faced opposition and persecution, but God encouraged him in a vision, saying, 'Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.' Paul continued his ministry in Corinth, strengthening and encouraging the believers. Eventually, he left Corinth and sailed to Syria, accompanied by Aquila and Priscilla. Before leaving, he had his hair cut off at Cenchreae because of a vow he had taken. Acts 18 shows us Paul's perseverance and dedication to spreading the gospel, even in the face of opposition and challenges.
