About this Chapter

In Romans 3, the apostle Paul emphasizes that all people, both Jews and Gentiles, are sinners and fall short of God's glory. No one is righteous on their own, and everyone is in need of God's grace and forgiveness. Paul starts by addressing the advantage of being a Jew and having the Law of Moses. He explains that although the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God, it does not make them exempt from sin. He quotes several verses from the Old Testament to show that no one is righteous, not even one. Paul goes on to explain that the purpose of the law is to make people aware of their sinfulness, not to justify them. He highlights that justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who died as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of all people. This shows God's righteousness and demonstrates His love and mercy towards sinners.
