Easy Bible・Romans 10
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
In Romans 10, the apostle Paul talks about the righteousness that comes by faith. He starts by expressing his deep desire for the salvation of his fellow Israelites, acknowledging their zeal for God but recognizing that they have not submitted to God's righteousness. Paul explains that Christ is the culmination of the law, bringing righteousness to everyone who believes. Paul emphasizes that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and not through the works of the law. He quotes from the Old Testament, saying that everyone who believes in Jesus will not be put to shame. Paul explains that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile, as the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him. Paul concludes by stating that faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. He affirms that the Israelites have heard the message, but not all of them have believed. Paul reminds his readers that faith is essential for salvation, and that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
