Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
Romans 14 teaches us about living in harmony with one another, especially in matters of personal conviction and preference. The chapter begins by addressing the issue of eating certain foods and observing certain days. Paul emphasizes that we should not judge or look down on others who have different convictions than us. Instead, we should accept one another and not let our differences in opinion cause division. Paul reminds us that we are all accountable to God and that He is the ultimate judge. He encourages us to focus on what truly matters in the kingdom of God, which is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It is more important to pursue unity and love than to argue over minor disagreements. In this chapter, Paul also teaches us to be considerate of one another's conscience. If someone believes that certain foods or activities are sinful, we should respect their convictions and not cause them to stumble. On the other hand, if we have the freedom to partake in something without feeling guilty, we should not judge or condemn others who choose to abstain.
