As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

About this Chapter

In this chapter, Paul encourages the Corinthians to not receive God's grace in vain, but to live as servants of God. He reminds them that now is the acceptable time, and now is the day of salvation. Paul then goes on to describe the hardships he and his companions have endured for the sake of the Gospel, including afflictions, hardships, and persecutions. Despite these challenges, they have remained faithful and have demonstrated themselves as servants of God. Paul urges the Corinthians to open their hearts to him and his companions, and he assures them that they have been open to them. He asks them not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, emphasizing the importance of being separate from the world and dedicating themselves fully to God. Paul reminds them that they are the temple of the living God, and God dwells in them. He encourages them to cleanse themselves from all defilement and to pursue holiness in their lives. Paul concludes the chapter by expressing his love for the Corinthians and his desire for them to have a deep affection for him as well. He assures them that he has spoken to them with an open heart and asks them to reciprocate. Paul encourages them to be reconciled with God and to receive God's grace fully, so that they may experience the abundant life that comes from living as servants of God.
