Easy Bible・2 Corinthians 12
2 Corinthians 12:7
To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
In this chapter, Paul talks about a vision and a thorn in his flesh. He mentions being caught up to the third heaven and hearing inexpressible things. However, to keep him from becoming conceited, he was given a thorn in his flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment him. Paul pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away, but the Lord said to him, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, Paul boasts all the more gladly about his weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on him. Paul concludes by saying that he will boast about his weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties. For when he is weak, then he is strong in Christ.
