Galatians 4:4
But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law,
In Galatians chapter 4, the apostle Paul reminds the Galatians of their former state of slavery under the law. He emphasizes that when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Paul compares the Galatians' previous state of slavery to that of a child who is under the guardianship of a tutor until the set time appointed by the father. He explains that although they were heirs, they were no different from slaves because they were still under the authority of the law. However, through the coming of Jesus Christ, believers have been set free from the bondage of the law and have received the full rights of sons and daughters of God. Paul encourages the Galatians to live in the freedom that Christ has given them, rather than returning to the yoke of slavery under the law.
