Colossians 3:1
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
In Colossians 3, the apostle Paul teaches believers how to live as those who have been made alive in Christ. He starts by encouraging them to set their hearts and minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. This means that our focus should be on heavenly things, not on earthly things. Paul then reminds the believers that they have died with Christ and their lives are now hidden with Christ in God. He urges them to put to death the earthly desires and sinful behaviors that belong to their old self. Instead, they should put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Paul also addresses various aspects of Christian living, such as putting off anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language. He encourages believers to bear with one another and forgive each other, just as the Lord forgave them. Above all, he emphasizes the importance of love, which binds everything together in perfect unity.
