Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
In this chapter, the apostle Paul gives instructions for Christian living. He encourages the Colossians to devote themselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. He also asks for prayers, that God may open a door for the message of Christ to be proclaimed. Paul urges the believers to make the most of every opportunity and to let their conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt. Paul then mentions various individuals who are with him and sends greetings to the Colossian church. He asks them to welcome these fellow believers and to encourage and support them in their ministry. Paul also sends greetings from other believers who are not present with him. In the final section, Paul gives some personal instructions and requests. He asks the Colossians to send greetings to the Laodicean church and to read his letter to them as well. He also mentions the individual named Archippus and tells the Colossians to encourage him in his ministry, reminding him to fulfill the work that he has received from the Lord.
