Easy Bible・Hebrews 2
Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
Hebrews 2 highlights the superiority of Jesus as the perfect Savior. The chapter begins by emphasizing the importance of paying attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from the truth. It then goes on to explain that God did not subject the world to come, the future eternal kingdom, to angels, but to Jesus. Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, was crowned with glory and honor because of his suffering and death on the cross. The chapter also reveals that Jesus became fully human, sharing in our humanity, so that he could become the perfect high priest and make atonement for our sins. By experiencing suffering and temptation, Jesus is able to sympathize with our weaknesses and help us in our time of need. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus destroyed the power of the devil and freed us from the fear of death. In conclusion, Hebrews 2 reminds us of the superiority of Jesus as the perfect Savior who became fully human to save us from our sins. It encourages us to hold firmly to our faith in Jesus, who is able to help us in every aspect of our lives.
