About this Chapter

In Hebrews 3, the author warns believers against the dangers of unbelief by using the example of the Israelites in the wilderness. He reminds them of how the Israelites rebelled against God and hardened their hearts, leading to their exclusion from entering God's rest. The author encourages the believers to hold firmly to their faith and not to harden their hearts like the Israelites did. The author quotes from Psalm 95:7-11 to emphasize the importance of hearing God's voice and not hardening one's heart. He warns that just as the Israelites were unable to enter God's rest because of their unbelief, believers can also miss out on God's rest if they do not remain faithful. The chapter concludes with the author exhorting the believers to encourage one another daily, so that none of them may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. He reminds them that they have become partners with Christ if they hold on to their original conviction until the end.
