Easy Bible・1 Peter 4
1 Peter 4:8
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
In this chapter, Peter encourages believers to live for God and to endure suffering for the sake of Christ. He emphasizes the importance of love and hospitality among believers, urging them to be fervent in their love for one another and to use their gifts to serve others. Peter also reminds them that they should not be surprised by the trials and persecution they face as followers of Christ, but rather rejoice in sharing in Christ's sufferings. Peter highlights the need for self-control and sober-mindedness, urging believers to be clear-minded and to resist the temptations of the flesh. He reminds them that the end of all things is near and encourages them to be disciplined in their prayers. Peter also reminds them that they should not be ashamed to suffer for being a Christian, but should instead glorify God in their suffering. Peter concludes the chapter by encouraging believers to entrust themselves to God, who is the faithful Creator. He reminds them that even in the midst of suffering, they can trust in God's care and continue to do good. Peter encourages them to commit themselves to God's will and to rely on His strength, knowing that He will sustain them and ultimately bring them to eternal glory.
