Easy Bible・1 John 1
1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
This chapter emphasizes the importance of walking in the light and having fellowship with God and one another. The apostle John declares that God is light and in Him there is no darkness. He encourages believers to confess their sins and receive forgiveness, assuring them that God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. John also warns against claiming to have no sin, as it is self-deception. He urges believers to acknowledge their sinfulness and rely on Jesus, the advocate and atoning sacrifice for their sins. John highlights the contrast between walking in the light and walking in darkness. Those who walk in the light have fellowship with one another and are cleansed by the blood of Jesus. On the other hand, those who claim to have fellowship with God but walk in darkness are liars and do not practice the truth. John encourages believers to live in a way that reflects their relationship with God, walking in love and obedience. In conclusion, 1 John 1 teaches us the importance of walking in the light, confessing our sins, and having fellowship with God and other believers. It reminds us that God is faithful and just to forgive us when we confess our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live in the light, reflecting His love and truth in our lives.
