2 John 1:4
It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

About this Chapter

The second letter of John is written to a chosen lady and her children, whom the writer loves in the truth. The writer rejoices greatly when he found some of the lady's children walking in the truth, following the commandments of God. The writer encourages the chosen lady and her children to continue walking in love and obedience, warning them about deceivers who deny that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. The writer emphasizes the importance of abiding in the teaching of Christ, stating that those who go beyond it and do not remain in it do not have God. The writer urges the chosen lady and her children to be cautious and not to receive anyone into their house or greet them if they do not bring the teaching of Christ. By doing so, they would participate in the evil deeds of the deceivers. The writer concludes the letter by expressing his desire to visit the chosen lady and her children in person, so that their joy may be complete. He sends greetings from the children of the chosen lady's sister.
