About this Chapter

Revelation 7 describes the sealing of 144,000 servants of God. These servants are chosen from the twelve tribes of Israel, with 12,000 from each tribe. The sealing serves as a mark of protection, ensuring that they will not be harmed during the upcoming tribulation. The chapter begins with four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds. Another angel ascends from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. This angel commands the four angels to hold back the winds until the servants of God are sealed on their foreheads. After this, John sees a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They are clothed in white robes and hold palm branches in their hands, signifying victory and salvation. The multitude worships God and the Lamb, acknowledging their salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus.
