Revelation 12:1
A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
Revelation 12 tells the story of a great sign in heaven. A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head, was about to give birth. Then a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns appeared, ready to devour the child as soon as it was born. The woman represents the people of God, and the child she was about to give birth to represents Jesus Christ. The dragon, on the other hand, symbolizes Satan, the enemy of God and His people. The dragon tried to devour the child, but the child was snatched up to God and His throne. This signifies Jesus' resurrection and ascension to heaven after His death on the cross. The woman then fled into the wilderness, where she was protected by God for 1,260 days, representing a period of persecution and tribulation for the people of God.
