Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."

About this Chapter

Revelation 14 starts with the vision of the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with the 144,000 people who have been redeemed and have the Lamb's name and the Father's name written on their foreheads. Then, an angel proclaims the eternal gospel to the inhabitants of the earth, calling everyone to fear God and worship Him. Another angel follows, declaring the fall of Babylon and warning people not to receive the mark of the beast. Then, a third angel warns that those who worship the beast and receive its mark will suffer eternal torment. After these warnings, John sees a vision of the Son of Man on a white cloud, reaping the earth's harvest. Another angel comes out of the temple and instructs the Son of Man to gather the grapes of the earth and throw them into the great winepress of God's wrath. The grapes are trampled outside the city, and blood flows out of the winepress, reaching as high as a horse's bridle for a distance of about 180 miles. Finally, the chapter ends with a scene of those who have died in the Lord. A voice from heaven declares that those who die in the Lord are blessed, and they will rest from their labor, while their deeds will follow them. This chapter emphasizes the importance of worshiping God alone, avoiding the mark of the beast, and remaining faithful to the Lamb, even in the face of persecution and tribulation.
