Revelation 18:2
With a mighty voice he shouted: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird.
Revelation 18 describes the fall of Babylon, a symbol of the corrupt and sinful world. The chapter begins with an angel announcing the downfall of Babylon, declaring that it has become a dwelling place for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit. The angel warns God's people to come out of Babylon, so that they do not share in her sins and receive her plagues. The chapter goes on to describe the luxurious lifestyle of Babylon and how her wealth and influence have corrupted the nations. The kings of the earth mourn her destruction, as they have benefited from her wealth and power. However, the angel declares that in one hour, Babylon will be completely destroyed, never to be found again. The merchants of the earth also mourn the loss of Babylon, as they have profited from her trade and luxury goods. They cry out in despair, realizing that all their riches have been destroyed. The chapter ends with a call from heaven, urging God's people to rejoice over the judgment of Babylon, for God has avenged them on her behalf.
