Word of Life

In the time of Jesus, the Egyptians held a polytheistic belief system known as Ancient Egyptian religion. They worshiped a multitude of gods and goddesses, each associated with various aspects of life and nature. Among the most prominent deities were Ra, the sun god, Osiris, the god of the afterlife, and Isis, the goddess of fertility and motherhood. These gods were believed to have control over different aspects of the world and were often depicted in human or animal forms. As a Christian, I believe that there is only one true God, who is revealed to us through Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us that God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it. He is the source of all truth, love, and salvation. While the Egyptians' beliefs may have differed from this, it is important for us to approach the topic with respect and understanding. As followers of Christ, we are called to share the message of the one true God and His love for all people, including those who may hold different beliefs.

Prayer

However, we are reminded of Your word in Exodus 12:12, where You declared that You would bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. We praise You, Lord, for being the one true God, above all other gods. We thank You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. May we always remember that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Help us to share this truth with others, just as You commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. In the midst of a world filled with false gods and beliefs, we pray that You would open the eyes and hearts of those who are still searching for the truth. May they come to know You, the only true God, and experience the life-transforming power of Your love and grace. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
