The question of whether partaking in substances such as cannabis, commonly known as weed, is a sin is not directly addressed in the Scriptures. Yet, we are blessed with guiding principles that illuminate our path. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV), it is written, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." This sacred passage encourages us to treat our bodies as holy vessels, honoring them and, in turn, the Spirit that dwells within. Moreover, Ephesians 5:18 (NIV) advises, "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit." While this verse speaks of wine, the principle applies to all substances that may cloud our judgment and lead us away from the path of righteousness.
