Word of Life

Beloved inquirer, your heart's question touches upon the profound mysteries of life. In this world, where the sun rises on both the good and the evil, we encounter the enigma of suffering and health. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." In our earthly journey, the reasons for the trials we face, including illness, may not always be clear. It is essential to understand that our physical state does not always reflect our spiritual standing or the depth of our faith. James 1:2-3 gently reminds us to "consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." Sometimes, these circumstances are opportunities for us to grow in compassion, empathy, and reliance on the divine. They teach us to lean on the everlasting arms and trust in the One whose ways are higher than ours. As we walk alongside those who suffer, providing comfort and support, we fulfill the command to "carry each other’s burdens" (Galatians 6:2). May we always approach such mysteries with humility and love, seeking wisdom through prayer and trusting in the promise that God is with us, offering strength and solace.
