Beloved child of God, In moments when the weight of enmity presses upon your heart, remember the profound teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. He beckons us to a higher calling, one that transcends the natural inclinations of our human nature. In Matthew 5:44, He gently guides us, saying, "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." This divine instruction is not merely a command but a pathway to true peace and freedom. When we choose to love our enemies, we mirror the boundless grace and mercy that our Heavenly Father bestows upon us daily. Consider also the words of Paul in Romans 12:20-21: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Through acts of kindness and love, we disarm hostility and allow the light of Christ to shine through us.
