My dear friend, In this moment of contemplation, let us seek wisdom from the scriptures. Money, in itself, is neither virtuous nor evil; it is merely a tool. The apostle Paul, in 1 Timothy 6:10, reminds us that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." It is not the possession of wealth that leads one astray but the yearning and attachment to it above all else. If you are considering an inheritance, ponder deeply upon the purpose it will serve in your life. Will it enable you to fulfill God’s work, to extend a helping hand to those in need, and to enrich the lives of others? Or does it weigh heavily upon your heart with burdens of greed and materialism? Reflect upon Proverbs 16:16, which says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!" Seek wisdom and understanding first, and let them guide your heart in all matters, including this one. If you find that inheriting this money can be a vessel of blessing, embrace it with a heart full of gratitude. Use it wisely, for the glory of God and the good of His creation. However, if it troubles your spirit, perhaps consider alternatives such as donating or investing in endeavors that uplift and inspire. In all things, let your decisions be anchored in prayer and reflection, trusting that the Lord will guide your path with love and grace. May peace and wisdom accompany you in your journey.

Proverbs 13:22 states, "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous." This verse contrasts the outcomes of righteousness and sinfulness. A righteous person plans for the future, ensuring their legacy benefits future generations. In contrast, the wealth of the wicked ultimately benefits the righteous, as it doesn't endure with them. This highlights the enduring value of wisdom and righteousness over temporary gains, emphasizing the importance of long-term planning and moral integrity.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help me understand the true value of inheritance, not just in wealth but in faith and righteousness. Guide my heart to use any blessings for Your glory and the good of others. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
