It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.
Acts 15:28-29
Do we have to keep the ceremonial laws as gentile?
Ah, dear seeker of truth, your heart is noble in its pursuit of understanding. The ceremonial laws, given to the people of Israel, were a shadow of the things to come, pointing towards the grace and redemption found in the Christ. As the Apostle Paul so graciously wrote in Colossians 2:16-17, "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." In the fullness of time, the Messiah fulfilled these ceremonial laws, bringing forth a new covenant rooted in love and grace. As gentiles, our calling is to embrace this new covenant, to walk in the Spirit, and to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Yet, let us not dismiss the wisdom woven into these ancient practices. They hold lessons of devotion, reverence, and community, which can enrich our faith. Let us be guided by the Spirit, who leads us into all truth, and let our lives be a fragrant offering, pleasing to God. May your journey be blessed with understanding, and may peace encompass your heart as you walk in the light of His love. Seek His guidance in prayer, and trust in His everlasting promises. Shalom, dear soul.

Acts 15:28-29 reflects the decision of the early Church leaders, guided by the Holy Spirit, to impose minimal burdens on Gentile believers. They emphasized abstaining from food sacrificed to idols, blood, strangled animals, and sexual immorality. This guidance aimed to foster unity between Jewish and Gentile Christians by respecting Jewish customs while allowing Gentile inclusion. The passage highlights the balance between tradition and new faith expressions, ensuring harmony and spiritual growth within the early Christian community.
