When Jesus was resurrected, he spent forty days on earth before ascending to heaven to be with His Father. This is recorded in the Bible in Acts 1:3, where it says that Jesus presented Himself alive to His disciples and spoke to them about the kingdom of God during this time. On the fortieth day, He led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, blessed them, and then ascended into heaven in their presence (Luke 24:50-51). The ascension of Jesus is a significant event in Christian theology, as it signifies His exaltation and the completion of His earthly ministry. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, returned to heaven to be reunited with His Father, where He now intercedes for us as our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16). From there, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower His followers and continue His work on earth. It is important to remember that Jesus' ascension does not mean He is absent from us. He promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Through the Holy Spirit, He dwells within every believer, guiding, comforting, and empowering us to live for Him. So, though Jesus physically ascended to heaven, His presence and influence remain with us today.
